Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking a Project Manager experienced in hydromechanical and powerhouse rehabilitation work. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of mechanical construction projects from award through closeout — including planning, budgeting, client interface, scheduling, and field coordination. This role requires a deep understanding of hydroelectric mechanical systems, contract management, and project delivery in high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned hydro-mechanical projects from pre-construction through turnover.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and forecasts.
- Lead schedule development, subcontractor coordination, and procurement activities.
- Prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, and progress billings.
- Direct and support field supervision to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and inspectors.
- Conduct progress meetings, site walks, and reporting to leadership and clients.
- Collaborate with estimating and engineering during pre-bid and proposal stages.
- Track project performance and generate closeout documentation, lessons learned, and as-builts.
- Promote TCB’s culture of safety, accountability, and precision in all project activities.
Qualifications
- 7–12 years of leadership experience in mechanical construction; hydro or power generation preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contracts and field teams simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of turbines, gates, valves, and hydro-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience with cost forecasting, earned value tracking, and subcontract management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools (Primavera or MS Project).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
- Background with DSOD/FERC-governed projects or major California utilities
- Experience in both fixed-price and T&M contracts.
- Familiarity with OEM equipment (GE, Voith, Andritz) and shop fabrication workflows.
