Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking skilled Pipefitters and Welders to join our mechanical construction team. This role involves layout, fabrication, installation, and welding of piping systems and structural components on hydroelectric, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout California. Candidates must demonstrate precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a field crew in high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit, cut, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.
• Fabricate spools, supports, and pipe assemblies using shop and field tools.
• Install and align piping systems, valves, and mechanical components.
• Perform SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding in accordance with AWS D1.1 or ASME Section IX standards.
• Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests as required.
• Work with rigging crews to safely move and position pipe and materials.
• Maintain weld quality and fit-up tolerances through inspection and documentation.
• Participate in daily tailboards, JSAs, and safety meetings.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of experience in pipefitting and/or structural welding.
• Ability to read and apply mechanical and welding drawings.
• Current or previous certification in SMAW and/or GTAW processes.
• Strong understanding of pipe layout, beveling, and weld prep.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to various project sites.

Preferred

• Experience on hydroelectric, power plant, or industrial facility projects.
• Current AWS, ASME, or UA certifications.
• Familiarity with rigging, hoisting, and confined space procedures.
• Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
