Overview
TCB Industrial is offering field internship opportunities for students and trainees interested in mechanical construction, fabrication, and hydroelectric maintenance. This internship provides practical, hands-on experience working alongside experienced millwrights, pipefitters, and welders on active job sites throughout California. Interns will learn safe work practices, mechanical assembly, rigging fundamentals, and construction processes used in power generation and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist skilled trades in daily mechanical tasks such as layout, rigging, fabrication, and assembly.
• Learn proper tool use, equipment setup, and material handling procedures.
• Support welders, pipefitters, and millwrights with measurements, fit-up, and cleanup activities.
• Participate in tailboard meetings and complete daily safety checklists.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all site safety rules.
• Observe and document field work to understand construction sequencing and best practices.
• Contribute to team productivity and maintain a professional attitude on every site.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a trade school, vocational training program, or college course related to Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction fields.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor or industrial environments.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and safety orientation.

Preferred

• Prior exposure to construction, fabrication, or mechanical work.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Interest in continuing as an apprentice or full-time employee after internship completion.
