Targeted Structural Repairs in a Restricted Waterway
TCB Industrial performed repair work on an existing operation and maintenance bridge spanning the Fresno River. The scope included replacement of a timber bent cap and application of preservative treatment to existing timber posts.
Equipment access to the riverbed was prohibited, requiring alternative support and jacking methods to complete the work safely.
Engineered Jacking and Falsework Systems
TCB developed detailed falsework and jacking plans to support the bridge during repairs while remaining within load limitations. A series of pulley systems and lightweight equipment were used to install and remove support systems without riverbed access.
Emergency services were notified in advance, traffic control measures were implemented, and the bridge was temporarily closed during jacking operations.
Outcome
Through effective planning and coordination with scaffolding support, the project was completed within the scheduled timeframe without safety or environmental incidents. The work demonstrated TCB’s ability to execute precise structural repairs under restrictive access conditions.
