Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking a Junior Estimator to support our Civil Pre-Construction team. This position is ideal for individuals with early field or technical experience who want to transition into estimating and project support. The Junior Estimator will assist in performing take-offs, collecting vendor quotes, and building cost summaries for grading, concrete, and infrastructure projects across California.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and RFQs to identify scope and materials.
• Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, concrete, and site utilities under supervision.
• Gather and organize subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Enter labor, equipment, and material costs into TCB’s cost-code and WBS structure.
• Help prepare bid proposals, pre-bid clarifications, and pricing summaries.
• Support the creation of estimates for change orders and small T&M projects.
• Maintain historical cost data and assist with post-bid reviews.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators to learn TCB’s estimating process.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of civil or construction experience (field or office).
• Understanding of general construction, grading, and concrete work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic plan reading skills.
• Strong math, organizational, and communication skills.
• Desire to grow into a mid-level estimator or field engineer role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred

• Prior internship or experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or take-off software.
• Eagerness to learn scheduling, cost tracking, and production estimating.
