Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking a Project Engineer / Field Engineer to support active heavy civil and concrete construction projects across California. This hybrid role bridges office and field operations, assisting Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, documentation, scheduling, and field coordination. The position offers direct exposure to grading, structural concrete, site development, and infrastructure work within TCB’s growing Civil Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with schedule updates, cost tracking, and submittal management.
• Review drawings and specifications; assist with RFIs, design clarifications, and field changes.
• Coordinate material procurement, delivery tracking, and documentation.
• Perform field measurements, quantity verification, and as-built updates.
• Work with Superintendents and Foremen to plan daily work activities and sequencing.
• Track crew production, equipment utilization, and material quantities.
• Prepare daily reports, photos, and safety documentation.
• Assist with QA/QC checks for formwork, rebar, and concrete placement.
• Participate in safety meetings, pre-task planning, and project closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2–6 years of experience in civil or concrete construction (field or office).
• Understanding of grading, excavation, formwork, and structural concrete operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout California.

Preferred

• Experience in water infrastructure, dam, or hydro-adjacent civil projects.
• Familiarity with Caltrans and municipal standards.
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
• Desire to advance toward Project Manager or Superintendent role.
