Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking a Project Engineer to support our hydroelectric and mechanical construction projects throughout California. The Project Engineer will assist Project Managers and field leadership in planning, documentation, scheduling, procurement, and technical coordination. This role offers hands-on experience across powerhouse rehabilitation, turbine and valve replacements, and large-scale hydromechanical upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with scheduling, cost tracking, and submittal management.
• Review drawings and specifications; help prepare RFIs and design clarifications.
• Assist with procurement, material tracking, and vendor coordination.
• Create and maintain project logs, progress reports, and field documentation.
• Coordinate with foremen and superintendents on work plans and task sequencing.
• Participate in safety meetings, QA/QC inspections, and daily tailboards.
• Track quantities, production rates, and earned value for cost reporting.
• Support project closeout, as-built documentation, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical or hydromechanical construction.
• Familiarity with turbines, gates, valves, and heavy mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling software.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Northern California.

Preferred

• Experience working in hydroelectric plants, dam structures, or powerhouse environments.
• Exposure to OEM equipment drawings (Voith, Andritz, GE, or similar).
• Desire to advance toward Project Manager or Field Engineer roles within TCB.
