Overview
TCB Industrial is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in hydropower and heavy industrial mechanical systems. The Mechanical Engineer will support design reviews, installation planning, and field execution for rehabilitation and new construction projects involving turbines, valves, penstocks, and auxiliary mechanical systems across California.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with design review, equipment layout, and constructability coordination.
• Develop lift plans, rigging diagrams, and field engineering packages under the direction of a licensed PE.
• Prepare drawings, technical documentation, and redlines for fabrication and installation.
• Support estimating, procurement, and material take-offs for hydromechanical projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, fabricators, and field crews to ensure mechanical work meets specifications and schedule.
• Participate in site inspections, measurements, and as-built documentation.
• Uphold TCB’s safety standards and participate in daily job hazard analysis and pre-task planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years of mechanical or hydromechanical construction experience.
• Knowledge of turbines, gates, valves, piping, and large rotating equipment.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Bluebeam; ability to read and mark up engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with welding, rigging, and mechanical installation methods.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Northern California.

Preferred Experience

• Field or shop experience in powerhouses, dams, or water conveyance facilities.
• Experience coordinating with owners, OEMs, and engineering firms on technical documentation.
• Exposure to alignment, hydraulic systems, or heavy rigging a plus.
